UX Designer, LiveOps Tooling
We're looking for a UX Designer who enjoys turning complex operational workflows into intuitive, efficient user experiences. You'll work closely with game teams across Supercell to understand how they plan, manage, and operate live games, then translate those insights into products that make their work simpler, faster, and more enjoyable.
Keeping our games fresh and engaging takes more than great ideas. It requires powerful tools that help our game teams operate their games as live services.
The LiveOps Tooling team builds and owns the internal products that game teams use every day to deliver live content to millions of players. Our tools enable game teams to manage what content to release, when to release it, and which players will experience it. In addition to this, we help multiple other teams to integrate their capabilities with games. This can be anything from A/B testing to managing Supercell Store.
This is a highly collaborative role. You'll partner with designers, engineers, product managers, and game teams to uncover real user needs, challenge assumptions, and design solutions that support multiple independent teams with different ways of working.
If you're energized by solving ambiguous problems, simplifying complex systems, and designing tools that have a meaningful impact on how games are made, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the end-to-end user experience for our internal LiveOps tools, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Partner with game teams to understand how they operate live games, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities to improve their workflows.
- Design intuitive solutions for complex operational problems that support multiple independent game teams.
- Lead product research and discovery through user interviews, observation, and collaborative workshops.
- Create information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs for data-rich applications.
- Develop a deep understanding of the LiveOps domain, the challenges game teams face, and the broader ecosystem our tools support.
- Plan and conduct usability testing and user research to validate designs and continuously improve the user experience.
- Work closely with engineers throughout implementation, providing design guidance and helping ensure a high-quality user experience in the final product.
- Experience designing products for both technical and non-technical users. Our primary focus is web applications, but not limited to it.
- Experience designing complex, data-rich interfaces and multi-step workflows.
- System thinking in designing solutions.
- Demonstrated skills to do usability and user validation testing.
- Strong user research and discovery skills. You're comfortable observing users, talking to stakeholders, and uncovering the underlying problems behind feature requests.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, open-ended problems and turn them into thoughtful, well-reasoned design solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong sense of ownership and the humility to change direction when research, user feedback, or product goals point to a better solution.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for helping people do their best work through thoughtful design.
- Experience working closely with engineers, project managers and product managers in an iterative product development environment.
- Ability to leverage AI in the UX design process, from prototyping to generating and validating ideas.
- Knowledge of creating design systems and working with component libraries.
- Prototyping skills for testing complex user flows.
- Experience designing scheduling or segmentation user interfaces.
- Experience designing A/B testing platforms.
- Experience designing complex internal products or data management tools.
- Front-end coding experience (not expected to code on the job).
- Experience working with game development teams or game production tools.

About Supercell
Supercell is a games company from Helsinki, Finland, with offices also in San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, and London. You might know us as the makers of Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars. Our mission is to create great games that as many people as possible play for years and that are remembered forever.
So, how do we make great games? By putting together the best teams and giving them the freedom and independence to succeed. And by taking risks, failing, sharing learnings, and killing lots of projects.
Hey, You Might Love It Here!
Independent cells and trust are at the core of our culture. But it takes more than that to make great games. We take good care of our people, providing them with the compensation, work environment, and resources they need to succeed while having fun along the way.
You Are Not Your Job Title ™
Here, you won’t need to focus on chasing titles or climbing ladders. Internally, our job titles don’t include prefixes like Senior, Junior, Principal, or Director. Recognition isn’t tied to your title, as it doesn't define the impact you can have around here.
Benefits And Compensation
Luring you in with glitter, glamour, and gems isn't what we're about. We want you to enjoy your time here fully, so we structure our compensation and benefits with that in mind. It starts with perceiving you as a human being, not a resource.
Relocation? Yes!
No matter where you’re moving from, our dedicated mobility team and partners will support you throughout your move. We’ll ensure the process is as smooth as possible for you and anyone joining you – whether they’re family members of the human or animal kind!
Not Sure if You Should Apply?
Many candidates with great skills and experience second-guess themselves. The bar is high, but if this role excites you, apply! We’re here to help you succeed. Also, we're happy to learn about any specific accommodations you may need to fully engage in our recruitment process.
Wishing you all the best,
The Supercell Recruitment team
