Job Title: Senior Golang Software Engineer

Location: Remote – United States

Employment Type: Full-Time

Base Salary: $180,000–$230,000

Visa: TN, O-1, and qualifying visa transfers may be considered

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Golang Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience building and operating production backend systems using Go/Golang. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of production Go experience along with a strong background in distributed systems, APIs, SQL/PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.

This is an early-stage startup environment, so we are looking for an engineer who is comfortable moving quickly, wearing multiple hats, taking ownership, and working through evolving priorities. Candidates should have at least 1–2 years of early-stage startup experience, preferably within a Seed through Series B company.

Strong communication, collaboration, sound judgment, and a low-ego approach are critical to success in this role.

• Design, build, and operate production backend systems using Go/Golang

• Design and evolve relational database schemas and data models
• Build and maintain systems using SQL/PostgreSQL
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD
• Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments
• Implement observability through metrics, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability and performance
• Own technical problems from design through production
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders
• Contribute to backend architecture and engineering best practices
• Work effectively in a fast-moving startup environment with changing priorities

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional production Go/Golang experience
• Strong experience building and operating distributed backend systems
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and API design
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Production experience developing web services/APIs
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments
• Experience with CI/CD and production deployments
• Ability to independently own technical problems
• 1–2+ years of early-stage startup experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Collaborative, humble, and low-ego approach

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer who combines strong Go expertise with startup experience and excellent communication skills. They should enjoy ownership, move quickly without sacrificing engineering quality, and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Important: Candidates who are significantly overqualified or have extensive senior leadership/architecture experience without meaningful early-stage startup experience may not be a fit.
