This is a contract position, initially running for 12 months, that can offer fully remote work. You must have right to work (no need for visa sponsorship) in the country you are based out of.

In this role you will take a hands-on role in the implementation, architecture, and optimization of their WebGPU initiatives. This includes driving the technical direction of WebGPU integration for performance-critical applications, with a heavy emphasis on lightweight and mini-game runtime environments.

Responsibilities as Senior Graphics Engineer (WebGPU):

  • WebGPU Implementation & Optimization: Lead the development and optimization of high-performance rendering pipelines utilizing WebGPU, specifically targeted at lightweight mini-game engines and web-based platforms.
  • Applied R&D & PoCs: Propose, architect, and deliver robust Proof-of-Concept (PoC) software implementations that address real-world graphics bottlenecks and push real-time rendering capabilities.
  • Pipeline Performance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive profiling, debugging, and optimization across real-time rendering pipelines to maximize performance on constraint-heavy platforms.
  • Research to Industry Translation: Monitor cutting-edge research from top graphics conferences (e.g., SIGGRAPH, Eurographics), translating academic state-of-the-art into practical, production-ready graphics features.
  • Technical Communication: Present complex research findings and architecture proposals clearly to cross-functional engineering teams, stakeholders, and external research partners.
  • Industry Engagement: Participate in technical conferences, scientific exhibitions, and collaborative meetings with internal research units as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: BSc in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Core Systems Programming: Excellent C++ development skills with 5+ years of dedicated hands-on experience in real-time rendering or game engine development.
  • Low-Level Graphics APIs: Demonstrated expertise with Vulkan and low-level rendering concepts.
  • Game Engine Expertise: Experience working on or developing custom game engine sub-systems (practical experience with Unity engine internals/native plugins is highly preferred).
  • Multi-Language R&D Stack: Proficiency across graphics and scripting languages relevant to WebGPU ecosystems (C++, C#, JavaScript, GLSL, and WGSL).
  • Problem-Solving & Specs: Ability to translate abstract graphics specs into clean, robust, and deployable code under project timelines.

Desirable Experience:

  • Advanced Degree: MSc in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, or equivalent high-level industry experience.
  • WebGPU Track Record: Direct experience developing or experimenting with WebGPU native implementations or web runtimes.
  • Cross-Platform Gaming: Hands-on experience developing 3D graphics/games targeted at mobile, web, and desktop runtimes simultaneously.
  • Recognized Excellence: Awards or top placements in competitive programming, graphics hackathons, or open-source graphics contributions.
