We are expanding our Quality Engineering Practice and are looking for an experienced Test Lead – Manual & Functional Testing to lead testing activities across client engagements. The role is primarily focused on manual functional testing, test leadership, quality ownership, and stakeholder management. Automation experience is an added advantage.

- Lead end-to-end manual and functional testing activities for assigned projects and releases.
- Own test planning, estimation, execution, reporting, and release readiness.
- Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria to identify testing requirements.
- Define comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and expected results.
- Execute and lead functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate complex business workflows, application integrations, and cross-system processes.
- Ensure adequate test coverage across functional requirements and critical business scenarios.
- Coordinate closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, QA engineers, and client stakeholders.
- Lead defect identification, logging, triage, prioritization, tracking, and closure.
- Perform defect analysis and root-cause investigation in collaboration with development teams.
- Monitor testing progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and quality metrics.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect reports, quality dashboards, and release status updates for stakeholders.
- Conduct test case reviews and ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices.
- Identify gaps in existing testing processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate early in the SDLC to identify quality risks and improve testability through Shift-Left testing practices.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers on testing techniques, test design, defect management, and quality practices.
- Identify suitable candidates for automation and work with automation engineers to improve regression coverage and efficiency.

- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering.
- Strong expertise in manual functional testing.
- Experience leading QA activities independently for projects, products, or releases.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, test methodologies, and defect life cycle.

- Strong experience in test scenario and test case design based on business requirements.

- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of web applications, APIs, databases, and application integrations.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with developers, product teams, business users, and client stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or leading QA engineers will be an advantage.
Automation is not the primary requirement for this role, but exposure to the following will be highly valued:
- Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar UI automation tools.
- API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of automation frameworks and reusable test design.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- SQL for database validation and backend data verification.
- Experience identifying manual regression scenarios suitable for automation.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing, intelligent test generation, or modern QA tools.

You are a strong functional tester who can take ownership of QA, not just execute test cases. You are comfortable understanding business requirements, designing effective test coverage, leading testing activities, managing defects, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring that a release meets the expected quality standards.
- Automation experience is a plus — strong manual and functional testing expertise is essential.
