Job Description
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a technology team working on digital solutions for the utilities sector. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and scalability of software solutions, combining functional testing, test automation, API and UI testing, and CI/CD integration within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute functional and technical test strategies, scenarios, and test plans.
- Design, maintain, and execute automated tests for APIs and user interfaces.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support Continuous Testing and secure deployments.
- Manage test plans, test execution, defect tracking, and test coverage using Azure DevOps.
- Analyse test results and collaborate with Development, DevOps, Platform, Architecture, and Product teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Contribute to test environment and test data management.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Refinement, and PI Planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation practices, quality metrics, and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance, with strong hands-on experience in test automation.
- Strong experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
- Experience with API testing, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of asynchronous architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or K6 is a plus.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
- Professional English (C1) is mandatory.

📍 Location & Work Model
- This position is based in Alicante, Spain. We are looking for candidates who currently live in Alicante or are open to relocating.
- Hybrid work model: During the first 2 months: 2 days at the office / 3 days remote per week. From the third month onwards: 1 day at the office / 4 days remote per week.
