About the Role

SohoPay is building payments infrastructure for the onchain economy. We're a small, senior team distributed across the US and Dhaka, shipping production systems that move real money.

We're hiring a Blockchain Engineer to work on our onchain payments stack. You'll write backend services, design APIs, and build smart contract integrations. This is a hands-on engineering role — you will own features end to end, from design through deployment and monitoring.

You'll work directly with the founding team. Code review is real, standards are high, and you'll get feedback that makes you better.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services that power onchain payment flows

• Design and document clean, versioned REST APIs for internal and partner use

• Integrate with EVM smart contracts, wallets, and stablecoin settlement rails

• Work with blockchain nodes, RPC providers, and indexing services

• Deploy and operate services on AWS, including containers, queues, databases, and monitoring

• Write tests, handle failure cases, and build systems that behave correctly under retries, partial failures, and network delays

• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions

• Debug production issues and continuously improve reliability

What We're Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong backend development skills in one or more of the following: Go, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or Rust

• Practical API design experience, including REST, authentication, versioning, and error handling

• Hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, or equivalent

• Working knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, including EVM, transactions, gas, signatures, and wallets

• Experience with Solidity or smart contract integration. You do not need to be a smart contract auditor, but you should be able to read contracts and integrate backend systems with them

• Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Linux

• Strong written English communication skills, as our team is distributed and works asynchronously

Nice to Have

• Payments or fintech experience, including ledgers, reconciliation, idempotency, and settlement

• Stablecoin experience with USDC, USDT, or similar assets on Ethereum, Base, Polygon, or other EVM-compatible networks

• Experience with Web3 tools such as ethers.js, viem, Foundry, Hardhat, and The Graph

• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CDK, or similar tools

• Open source contributions

• Experience building production-grade blockchain or payment systems

• Experience with wallet infrastructure, transaction signing, transaction monitoring, or blockchain security

• Understanding of payment retries, transaction finality, reorgs, confirmations, and failure recovery

• Experience designing secure APIs and working with authentication, authorization, key management, or secrets management

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: ৳60,000 BDT per month

Holidays: US public holidays observed

Year-End Break: Paid holiday at the end of the year

Remote Work: Fully remote, work from anywhere in Bangladesh
