Role: AI EngineerML Engineer – AI Lab

📍 Shanghai (relocation supported for candidates outside Shanghai) | Full-time

I'm working with a leading global quant firm to hire for their AI Lab in Shanghai. The team is actively expanding across Asia-Pacific and running some genuinely interesting new projects at the intersection of AI research and systematic trading. They're hiring engineers with expertise in one (or more) of the following areas:

Depending on your area of expertise, you'll work on one of:

• Agentic AI – designing and building autonomous, multi-step AI agents and the frameworks that power them
• Operations / LLM deployment – deploying, monitoring, and maintaining LLM systems reliably in production
• LLM infrastructure build-out – building the infrastructure and tooling that supports training, fine-tuning, and serving large language models at scale

• Reinforcement Learning – researching and applying RL techniques to real-world, high-impact problems
• Collaborate closely with quant researchers and traders to bring AI capabilities into live trading and research workflows
• Contribute to a rapidly growing team shaping how AI is used across the firm

What we're looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience in at least one of: Agentic AI, LLM Ops/deployment, LLM infrastructure, or Reinforcement Learning
• Solid engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production-grade systems
• Genuine curiosity about applying AI/ML to trading and research problems
• Proficiency in Python is a must, C++ is a huge plus
• Open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds — trading/finance experience isn't required
