Our digital platform is a key strategic part of the business. It's been built using modern development practices, using a service-orientated architecture, and headless CMS. All deployed to cloud infrastructure such as AWS to ensure we can scale to meet ever changing user demands.

About the role:

• Develop, maintain, and support digital products in accordance with the business and technology objectives.
• Work closely with all members of the team to deliver high-quality code that is tested and delivered across the full Software Development Life Cycle
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including planning meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure all code is tested and code reviewed to the highest standards.
• Adapt quickly to changing environments, concepts, and emerging technologies to assist in the future roadmap of our products and consumer experiences.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for the craftsmanship and engineering aspects of software development.
• Have an active role in mentoring and coaching other developers (including line management).
• Assist with the recruitment of new developers.
• Contribute to processes, documentation, and best practices.

Requirements:

• PHP7/8, PHP Frameworks (e.g. Symfony, Laravel, etc.)
• RESTful API development and consumption
• Unit testing with use of mocks and dependency injection e.g. PHPUnit
• SOLID principles and common design patterns
• MySQL, Database migration strategies
• Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization in general
• Mentoring and people management skills

Desirable:

• CMS plugin and theme development (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• API Platform framework
• MongoDB
• Debugging using tools such as XDebug
• BDD / TDD / DDD
