We are scouting for a CMDB Engineer with experience in ServiceNow. This position is fully remote for a German client over an initial duration of 6-12 months plus a high likelihood of extensions into 2026. CMDB Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 6-12 Months initial contract (plus extensions)

Europe: B2B Freelance (outside) / UK: Inside IR35

40 hours per week / Full-Time

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled CMDB Engineer to lead a critical initiative for our German client. This role involves cleaning up and implementing a robust CMDB within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CMDB principles, automation techniques, and ServiceNow configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

• CMDB Clean-up: Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing CMDB to identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and errors.
• Data Quality Improvement: Implement data quality standards and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable CMDB data.
• Automation: Develop and execute automation scripts to streamline CMDB processes, such as data import, export, and reconciliation.
• ServiceNow Configuration: Customize ServiceNow workflows, forms, and reports to optimize CMDB functionality.
• Relationship Mapping: Establish and maintain accurate relationships between CI items to improve visibility and reporting.
• Best Practice Implementation: Adhere to industry best practices for CMDB design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to understand their needs and ensure the CMDB aligns with their requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in CMDB design, implementation, and maintenance
• Strong proficiency in ServiceNow, including configuration and scripting
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes, specifically Configuration Management
• Expertise in data cleansing and quality improvement techniques
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience with automation tools like PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript
• Knowledge of ITIL certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation)
• Experience with cloud-based CMDB solutions
