Job Title: Head of AI (Data Engineering Background)

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Head of AI with a data engineering background to lead our AI strategy, develop scalable solutions, and manage a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Strategy & Leadership:
• Define and execute the company’s AI strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI researchers, data scientists, and engineers.
• AI Development:
• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning solutions.
• Ensure end-to-end development of AI products, from concept to production.
• Data Engineering:
• Architect and optimize robust data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Utilize big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Identify opportunities for AI applications across the organization.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business value.
• Compliance & Innovation:
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to GDPR and other data privacy regulations.
• Stay ahead of trends in AI tools, technologies, and best practices.

Key Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in leading AI teams and projects.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong background in data engineering (ETL pipelines, big data platforms, cloud services).
• Proficient in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (Python, Java, Scala).
• Expertise in designing and deploying scalable AI architectures.
• Leadership Skills:
• Proven ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Other Requirements:
• Fluent in English (German proficiency is a plus).
• Knowledge of data governance, ethics, and AI compliance standards.
