Glaut is an AI-native market research software for large-scale customer research studies to extract qualitative insights at scale. How? We combine the efficiency of a survey with the depth of a 1-to-1 interview, allowing researchers to conduct large quantitative projects with qualitative insights at scale. In practice, Glaut replaces closed-ended questionnaires with personalized, engaging voice-based interviews with thousands of respondents simultaneously.

About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Back-end Software Engineer (+5 years experience in software) who can balance mission-critical reliability with rapid innovation.

You will shape and implement cutting-edge features that push our platform forward, while helping to maintain and improve our real-time multimedia infrastructure.

Working closely with Gio, Glaut's cofounder, you’ll design and build architectures that ensure seamless scalability and low-latency performance, while regularly delivering new functionality that delights our users. Your work will directly enhance both the technical backbone and the feature set of our application, ensuring a consistently top-tier user experience.

This is a full-remote position and we will consider candidates from Argentina, Brazil and Europe. However, we have a preference for candidates from Italy since we tend to meet in person frequently in Milan.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

• Architect & build: Collaborate with the Tech Lead to design scalable, fault tolerant services - and then implement both back-end and front-end features.
• Innovate & enhance: Create new features that leverage real-time media while maintaining rock-solid reliability.
• Optimize performance: Continuously refine our stack to minimize latency, boost throughput, and ensure top-notch user experiences.
• Support the team: Contribute to shaping our technical roadmap, influencing both infrastructural decisions and product direction.

Bonus Points

• Experience with AWS and Azure.
• You used non-relational databases in the past
• Familiarity with streaming protocols, WebRTC, or low-level networking.
• Strong production debugging and performance tuning skills.

Requirements

Your Skills (must-have for the role):

• Python & Back-End strength: Mastery in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, along with deep expertise in concurrency and async programming.
• Media handling: Experienced in real-time media streams, codecs, and addressing audio/video edge cases.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring for smooth rollouts and dependable uptime.
• Scalable Infrastructure: Proven experience designing robust, fault-tolerant systems that handle high traffic loads.

• Salary: The estimated base salary range for this role is between $40k and $60k. Remuneration is determined by several factors, including years of relevant experience, expertise and unique skills, and location.
