Linux System Support Engineer

If you have DevOps Automation and (Bash/Python basic script it would be a plus)

We are seeking x2 System Support Engineers focus with strong Linux systems administration.

The role will be 70% focus on Troubleshooting at the beginning and shift gradually to 70% DevOps to work on CI CD pipelines and build the architecture BUT Linux Sys Admin and Support is the big priority.

• Contract Type: Freelance
• Duration: 12+ months (Long term project)
• Location: Fully remote (EU based citizens only)

This role requires troubleshooting complex issues, managing critical incidents, and ensuring the availability and performance of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Linux Expertise: Strong Linux system administration skills, including troubleshooting, root-level directories, and bash/python scripting.

• Tool Proficiency: Experience with monitoring tools (Icinga2, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus) and incident management platforms (PagerDuty).

• Networking Basics: Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
• Documentation: Ability to create clear, concise documentation in English for knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

• SSL/TLS Certificates: Basic understanding of certificate management and deployment.

• On-Call Support: Comfortable with after-hours and weekend shifts, responding to incidents and alerts on huge servers.

• Scripting: Basics in Bash and Python is a plus
• Security: Experience with root access and adherence to security best practices.
• Communication: Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience with Linux command line.
• Familiarity with server orchestration tools like Foreman.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring/alerting systems like Icinga and Grafana.

Work Schedule

• Days off: 3 days Week
• Work days: Weekends + 2 days of the week so total of 4 days (Covering 40h).
• Shifts: 2 days (8 hours) + 2 days (12 hours)
