The Role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of building and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our AI-driven e-commerce platform. You’ll work closely with frontend engineers and AI teams to ensure smooth integration between the customer-facing application and the backend systems. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on impactful, large-scale backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development & Support: Work on the backend system to ensure smooth functionality for the e-commerce platform. This includes working on tracking and messaging structures.
• AI Integration: Contribute to the development and integration of our AI-powered solutions, such as chatbots and virtual assistants.
• E-commerce Focus: Build scalable backend solutions for messaging and AI integrations tailored to e-commerce environments.
• Collaborate with Frontend Team: Ensure seamless communication between backend and frontend systems, working closely with the frontend engineers.
• Team Contribution: Collaborate within a small, dynamic team, taking ownership of backend features and helping mentor junior engineers as we expand.

Must-Have Skills:

• TypeScript (Node.js): Strong expertise in backend development using TypeScript with Node.js.
• E-commerce Experience: Prior experience in developing backend systems for e-commerce platforms, ideally with a focus on messaging or AI-powered applications.
• AI & Messaging Experience: Familiarity with building backend systems that support AI-driven tools or messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.
• English Communication: Proficiency in English for communication with the team and clients.
• Senior-level Experience: Significant backend engineering experience, particularly with building scalable and maintainable systems.

Future Projects:

• E-commerce AI Agents: Work on developing AI agents for e-commerce platforms, focusing on messaging and customer engagement through popular platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp.
• Onsite Helpers: Contribute to the development of AI-powered helpers, similar to Clippy, for e-commerce websites.
