Human Resources Manager

100% Remote / Work from Home Role

NYC / NJ Based Company


Our client, a dynamic and innovative Financial Services company, is seeking a "hands on" HR Manager to join their team. This is a 100% remote, full-time permanent position, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer.


The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and well rounded HR professional with strong experience in benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and payroll coordination.


In This Role, You Will:


  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to employees and leadership, handling day-to-day HR functions across the organization
  • Oversee benefits administration, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive workplace culture
  • Ensure payroll accuracy by working closely with the firm’s payroll provider, conducting audits, and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and reporting requirements, including Form 5550 and other HR-related filings
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for employees joining or leaving the organization
  • Support performance management and development programs, helping to implement and improve HR best practices
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company goals and legal requirements
  • Manage HRIS and employee records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with retention policies
  • Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, including employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, and workforce planning


What We’re Looking For:


  • 5+ years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance reporting (Form 5550, ACA, FMLA, EEO, etc.)
  • Experience with benefits administration, employee relations, and payroll coordination
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic HR solutions
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll software (experience with Finance or a tech-driven environment is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
