Backend Engineer - AI Voice Agent Startup (Work from Home)

Are you a creative and motivated back-end developer who wants to be part of something new, exciting, and game-changing? We’re building a brand-new AI-powered voice agent product that will help small businesses automate customer calls, starting with industries like hairdressers, clinics, and trades.

This is a startup—we’re building the MVP from scratch, and you’ll be working directly with the founder. It’s the perfect opportunity if you’ve ever wanted to help create a real product from the ground up, be part of the early team, and influence how everything works.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build the backend of our AI Voice Agent platform
• Set up and manage phone call workflows using Twilio or SignalWire
• Integrate AI tools like OpenAI Whisper (STT), GPT-4/Claude (AI reasoning), and ElevenLabs (TTS)
• Connect to external tools like Google Calendar or appointment systems (e.g. Calendly, Fresha)
• Create APIs for future use by a frontend dashboard
• Build internal tools for testing and managing business settings
• Solve real-world problems with AI and voice automation

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience (Python preferred, Node.js is also okay)

• Experience with APIs and microservices (FastAPI, Express, etc.)

• Familiarity with AI tools like OpenAI, LangChain, or similar

• Experience working with Twilio or any telephony/VoIP platforms is a BIG plus

• Familiarity with STT/TTS services (Whisper, Google STT, ElevenLabs, Azure, etc.)

• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and think like a builder

• Startup mindset: okay with ambiguity, fast iterations, and learning on the go

Benefits 1. Monthly Salary: Php 85,000
2. Salary will be paid on a bi-monthly basis on the 15th and 30th or 31st of each month
3. You will be paid extra for overtime and Philippines public holidays
4. Probation: 6 months and after Probation
- 10 days annual leave credits
- 5 days of sick leave
5. HMO offered after 6-months Probation
6. 13th Month Pay after 30 days

9. Permanent work-from-home role. You will have to use your own internet.
10. SHIFT TIMES: Monday to Friday (with some flexibility)
