Rails Developer

We need an experienced Rails developer to integrate Firebase Authentication into the Forem (https://lnkd.in/gD4vynf8) platform while maintaining compatibility with existing authentication systems.

What You'll Build:

- Seamless Firebase Authentication (Email/Password + social providers) working alongside Devise/OmniAuth

- Secure token handling and session management

- UI components for new auth options

- Comprehensive test coverage

- Clear implementation documentation

Required Skills:

- Production-level Ruby on Rails experience

- Firebase Authentication implementation experience

- Deep understanding of Devise and OmniAuth

- OAuth 2.0 and JWT expertise

- Open-source contribution experience (GitHub workflow)

Bonus Skills:

- Previous work with Forem or similar platforms

- PWA authentication experience

- Auth security best practices

Project Details:

- Hourly contract (rate to be proposed by you)

- Fully remote
