🔌 Protection Systems Engineer – Grid Automation

📍 Location: Latvia | 🏠 Hybrid (office/home) | ✈️ ~50% Travel

We’re supporting our client in the search for a highly skilled Protection Systems Engineer to join their expanding grid automation team in Latvia.

If you have a solid background in power systems and a passion for high-voltage protection technologies, this role offers a chance to make a real impact in the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and commission HV substation protection systems
• Verify designs and ensure compliance with local regulations
• Act as a technical lead and liaise with project stakeholders
• Support protection settings calculations and documentation
• Deliver client training and aftersales support (incl. on-site)

Qualifications:

• Technical diploma in protection or electrical engineering
• Strong experience with protection relays & HV/MV systems
• Knowledge of industry standards, protocols & networking
• Fluent in Latvian and proficient in English
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to travel (~50%)
• Familiarity with relays like Micom Px40 or Multilin UR
• Networking experience (switches, routers, gateways)
