Junior-Mid System Administrator

The Role:

We are looking for a System Administrator to support and further develop our global infrastructure, with experience in Linux system administration, cloud technologies, networking, and incident management.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, administer, and improve Linux and Unix-based physical and virtual infrastructure across 20+ global locations.
• Monitor systems proactively, analyze logs, and manage incidents, ensuring optimal uptime, security, and performance.
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain critical cloud and on-prem environments.
• Participate in infrastructure improvement projects and automation initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to prevent future issues.
• Assist the support team in resolving complex customer cases and provide clear escalation guidelines.
• Document operational procedures and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration in production environments.
• Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (KVM preferred, VMware or similar is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar).
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, routing).
• Experience with monitoring tools and log management solutions (Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Familiarity with incident and change management processes (ITIL-based).
• Experience with database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL) in a production environment.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate routine tasks.
• Fluent in English (both written and verbal).

Bonus Skills (a strong advantage):

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Experience with JIRA Service Management, Confluence.
• Version control systems knowledge (GIT, Mercurial).
• Exposure to hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

Note: Work hours are from 2 PM until 11 PM Guadalajara time
