The opportunity

This is a unique chance to join a newly funded, YC-backed InsurTech startup as one of the first technical hires. The team is rethinking how insurance claims are processed using AI automation + human expertise to speed up decisions and create a better experience for customers when they need it most.

As a Founding ML Engineer, you’ll be working closely with the founding team, gaining hands-on experience building AI-driven systems from the ground up. It’s a chance to learn fast, ship real products, and see your work have an immediate impact.

What you’ll do

• Help design, train, and deploy machine learning models for claims automation
• Work with industry experts to translate processes into AI-powered workflows
• Experiment with LLMs, generative AI, and applied ML techniques
• Contribute to data pipelines, experimentation, and model evaluation
• Take ownership of projects with mentoring from senior engineers & founders

What we’re looking for

• Recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Maths, Physics, or a related field
• Strong Python skills (bonus: experience with ML libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn)
• A solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals (projects, internships, or research count!)
• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and a passion for applying AI to real-world problems
