Solar Turbines is looking for an Auxiliary Systems Engineer to support the development and the maintenance of the Gas Turbines Package dedicated to the Power Generation market (power range: 4 to 35 MW). The candidate will be responsible for the design, the technical documentation and the interface definition of the Gas Turbine Package Auxiliary Systems such as Ventilation System, Lube Oil system and Fuel System. This role coordinates with Purchasing and vendors for auxiliary system components. The auxiliary systems design is the basis for the 3D mechanical design and determines the instrumentation and control devices connected to the Solar control system requiring close collaboration with the mechanical and controls design engineers. He or she will also interface with project engineers, sales support department and project application engineers.The role implies approximately 10% travel.

What will be your task at this position?

  • Develop Auxiliary Systems according to technical specifications;
  • Implement Auxiliary Systems changes into the Standard product;
  • Prepare technical documentation related to Auxiliary Systems functionalities;
  • Support Sales Department;
  • Support Project Execution Department;
  • Leading technical discussion with the suppliers.

What do we expect from a suitable candidate?

  • Energy, Industrial Process, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Bachelor Degree;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the field of Auxiliary Systems design for industrial applications;
  • Good understanding of Thermodynamics and Fluid dynamics principles;
  • Knowledge of Turbomachinery and Gas Turbine process;
  • Good understanding of P&Id diagrams;
  • Plant site experience and/or plant commissioning of benefit;
  • Basic knowledge of 3D drawing tools;
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical Schematics;
  • Basic knowledge of Functional Safety concepts (IEC61508/IEC61511);
  • Basic knowledge of Matlab, Simulink of benefit;
  • Attention to detail concerning component specifications, certifications, and documentation
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and testing processes
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Fluent English – Czech, Italian, German and/or French of benefit;
  • Good communication skills and capability to work in a team;
  • Analytical skills and problem solving capability;
  • Target oriented and strong sense of responsibility.
