Location: Abu Dhabi | Relocation package available 🌍

Salary: 28 - 35,000 AED per month (up to ~$9.5k per month)

Our client, an innovator in the Cyber Security industry, is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer (JVM & Java Optimisation) to take ownership of performance optimisation across a containerised, Java-based microservices architecture running at scale in the cloud. You’ll be the go-to expert for JVM tuning, Spring Boot optimisation, database performance, and container orchestration—ensuring low latency and high efficiency on critical systems.

What you’ll be working on:

• End-to-end performance tuning for Java microservices in Kubernetes
• JVM Optimisation (GC, threading, memory allocation)
• Spring Boot profiling & tuning (reactive streams, caching, thread pools)
• SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory DB performance (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
• Performance testing with JMeter, k6
• Observability using JFR, JVisualVM, OpenTelemetry
• Container Orchestration tuning (Autoscaling, CPU/mem limits, KEDA, Istio)
• Optimising event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Building CI-integrated performance testing frameworks

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience
• Proven expertise in JVM, Java, and Spring Boot optimisation
• Hands-on Kubernetes performance tuning in production environments
• Cloud-native experience and CI/CD performance testing integration
• Proficiency with profiling & monitoring tools (e.g., YourKit, JProfiler, Zipkin)
• Comfortable operating as an Individual Contributor
