Job Description
BlueAlly Technology Solutions, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer with expertise in in Fortinet firewalls and Fortinet/Aruba/HPE switching, to support the unique needs of the hospitality industry.
This role focuses on the design, deployment, and support of secure, reliable networks that enable key hotel technologies such as Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and guest services applications to operate seamlessly. The ideal candidate will have strong network design and troubleshooting skills, paired with an understanding of hospitality operational environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and support Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate, FortiManager) including policies, VPNs (site-to-site and remote), SD-WAN, and segmentation.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Fortinet, Aruba, and HPE switches, including VLAN segmentation, trunking, stacking, spanning tree, and QoS.
- Implement network segmentation for hospitality environments to support guest, POS, PMS, and back-office networks.
- Plan and configure routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and redundancy solutions for LAN/WAN connectivity.
- Troubleshoot L2/L3 network issues in multi-vendor environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Ensure PCI DSS compliance and guest network isolation in hospitality environments.
- Maintain working knowledge of hospitality systems (PMS, POS, guest services) to ensure network readiness and application connectivity.
- Collaborate with project managers to deliver network projects on schedule and aligned with client requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and handoff materials.
- Provide post-deployment support and knowledge transfer to client IT teams.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering (mid-level).
- Proficiency with Fortinet firewall administration (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
- Experience with Fortinet/Aruba/HPE switch configuration (CLI and GUI).
- Solid understanding of VLANs, routing protocols, VPNs, and redundancy.
- Familiarity with hospitality network needs (guest segmentation, PCI DSS, POS/PMS application requirements).
- Working knowledge of Sophos firewalls a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across L2/L3 network layers.
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and technical documentation.
- Relevant certifications a plus: Fortinet NSE 4+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA/CCNP.
