Job Title: Redpanda Administrator
Location: 100% Remote (Canada)
Contract Duration: 1+ Year
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Redpanda Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in managing Redpanda Self-Hosted environments and a strong understanding of Kafka administration. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills, proficiency in Linux systems, and familiarity with modern DevOps tools and Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Redpanda Self-Hosted clusters in an on-prem environment, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve Kafka-related issues, including Apache Kafka Connect troubleshooting and integration challenges.
- Implement and manage Kerberos authentication for secure communication across systems.
- Execute automation tasks using Ansible for configuration management and deployment.
- Monitor and analyze system logs using tools like Logscale to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams using Jira for issue tracking and Git/Bitbucket for version control.
- Ensure compliance with Agile SDLC practices and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
- Maintain and optimize Linux/RHEL 8+ environments for Redpanda and related services.
Required Skills (Must-Have):
- Proven experience as a Redpanda Administrator in an on-prem environment.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, Confluent Platform, and Kafka Connect administration.
- Proficiency in Linux/RHEL 8 or higher system administration.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Kerberos authentication and secure system integration.
- Working knowledge of Jira, Git, and Bitbucket for Agile workflows.
