Job Description: Senior Data Engineer (6-Month Contract to Hire, Remote)
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract to Hire
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in a critical role as we transition datasets from an old pipeline to a new one. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future of our data architecture. The team is currently working on several Proof of Concepts (POCs) using Data Bricks and Snowflake, and we are looking for someone to support this process as it progresses.
This position is a contract-to-hire (C2H) opportunity and will allow for flexible, remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate data from legacy systems to a modern pipeline architecture.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize and integrate data systems across platforms.
- Work within Data Bricks and Snowflake environments to build and improve data processes.
- Leverage cloud technologies (preferably Azure) to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, CI/CD pipelines, and other data engineering solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on business requirements and data architecture.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Expert in SQL: Strong proficiency in writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
- Experience with Data Bricks and/or Snowflake: Experience in one or both of these technologies is preferred.
- Cloud Systems Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms (Azure is preferred, but other cloud experience is acceptable).
- Python: Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation tasks.
- ETL & CI/CD: Strong understanding of ETL processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are a must for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
