Network Administrator – Patch & Update Management
Location: Remote/ Hybrid in Quito
Type: Contract
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator with strong experience in server operating system patching, update management, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing monthly OS and application updates, ensuring system reliability, security compliance, and successful deployment across Windows and Linux environments. This role is fully remote and requires the ability to work after hours for time-sensitive update cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly server operating system patching and update management across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Review, analyze, and prioritize update deployments based on severity information provided by stakeholders.
- Complete technical tasks associated with monthly updates within date-specific deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and remediate failed updates by analyzing error codes, logs, and determining root-cause solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to support the patch management lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to ensure system uptime, security compliance, and performance after deployments.
- Work remotely with flexibility to perform after-hours tasks as needed for update windows.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Windows OS Update Administration
- Strong experience with Linux OS Update Administration
- Proficiency in application installation troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Preferred: Experience with Automox, PowerShell scripting, or similar update automation tools
