Plan and execute structured transitions from DB2 to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity, performance alignment, and controlled cutovers.

Monitor and troubleshoot database performance

Manage access, encryption, auditing, and STIG-aligned hardening required for regulated government environments.

Manage backups, recovery, and continuity-of-operations planning

Develop and execute dependable strategies for DR, failover, and data protection.

Execute upgrades and maintenance activities

Apply patches, schema updates, configuration changes, and routine upkeep to ensure system reliability.

Collaborate with engineering and application teams

Support query design, schema planning, integration requirements, and cross-functional troubleshooting.

Document systems with precision

Maintain configuration records, runbooks, standards, and change documentation to ensure audit readiness.

Support automation and DevOps workflows

Contribute to scripting, CI/CD integration, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives that streamline database management.

Contribute to secure, compliant delivery environments

Ensure database activities align with public sector requirements, governance processes, and quality standards.

• Certifications such as AWS Database Specialty, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2, Security+, or equivalents

• Experience supporting cloud-based deployments (AWS preferred)

• Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and manage multiple workstreams

• Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence) and Agile delivery practices

• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

• Ability to work EST hours and support occasional on-site collaboration in Washington, DC
