About the role
The position is at a tech company. We're searching for a passionate and hands-on VP of People Operations to help us expand and enhance our People Ops capabilities.
In this job, you'll be at the core of the journey, building systems, processes, and programs that enable connection, development, and high performance while also ensuring compliance and efficiency. You will combine big-picture strategy and execution with providing HR operations and support across the employee lifecycle and experience.
As a strategic partner on the leadership team, you will promote our people and culture goals, cultivate a good and engaged employee experience, and advocate for continual changes that have a direct impact on the performance of our teams and the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities
Employee Experience & Culture
- Own the onboarding, cultural integration, and offboarding experience for all Rebots.
- Act as a confidential point of contact for workplace concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation when needed.
- Design and deliver employee engagement initiatives that foster a high-performing, mission-driven culture.
- Create lightweight, scalable processes for performance reviews, engagement surveys, and feedback mechanisms.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build a high-performing People Ops team grounded in collaboration, mentorship, and continuous development to drive individual and team success.
- Partner with key stakeholders to shape and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with organizational goals and values.
- Conduct regular compensation and benefits benchmarking to support fair and competitive total rewards practices.
- Work with leadership to implement transparent and equitable performance and compensation processes.
- Collaborate with team leads to translate company objectives into practical people programs.
- Manage employee relations matters from start to finish, including coaching, documentation, and investigations.
- Partner with IT, Finance, and Operations to align people processes and cross-functional initiatives with broader organizational goals.
HR Operations, Compliance & Total Rewards
- Design, implement, and clearly communicate people policies that are compliant, fair, and aligned with company values.
- Maintain best-in-class practices that promote a high-trust, secure, and compliant workforce.
- Implement and continuously improve HR systems such as HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms with a focus on automation, efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Identify and drive opportunities to streamline workflows and improve employee and manager self-service experiences.
Qualifications
The Hard Skills
- 10+ years of progressive People Ops or HR experience with strong hands-on execution across HR operations, ideally within a fast-scaling tech startup.
- Strong knowledge of employment best practices, compliance standards, and labor regulations, particularly within the U.S. and Canadian contexts.
- Proven ability to design and implement onboarding, offboarding, and performance management systems.
- Demonstrated success partnering with key stakeholders to solve problems and deliver solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Confidence managing HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Pulley, Employee Navigator, and Ashby, along with people programs.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders to align people strategies with business objectives and support organizational change.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable organizational structures for high-growth startups, including clear leveling frameworks and career progression models.

- Highly organized and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and shifting priorities effectively.
- High emotional and social intelligence, with experience building strong, positive relationships across diverse teams and complex situations.
