Job Description
Description
We are looking for a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer to join our team at Dura Software. This is a US-based Remote, full-time, Exempt position.
About Dura: Dura Software is a PE-backed software holding company managing a portfolio of 15+ B2B SaaS and software companies across healthcare, sales enablement, and contact center technology. Our portfolio companies serve thousands of customers, process millions of transactions daily, and operate across a wide range of cloud, hybrid, and legacy infrastructure environments.
We are at an inflection point: moving from single-threaded, operator-dependent infrastructure to standardized, resilient operations that protect enterprise value and enable growth.
The Challenge
You’ll be stepping into environments where critical infrastructure knowledge has historically lived with a single person. In some cases, that includes hybrid cloud and on-premises data centers, VMware and Windows Server platforms, firewalls, load balancers, storage, disaster recovery environments, and compliance responsibilities. Your mission is to transform these systems into resilient, documented, and supportable operations. This role is about operational resilience, not greenfield builds or chasing the latest tools.
What We Offer & Why This Role Is Different
- Comprehensive Health and Welfare benefits package and unlimited PTO
- Competitive annual salary ($130,000 – $150,000), based on experience
- High-impact work protecting millions in ARR
- Executive sponsorship and clear mandate
- Exposure to diverse technology stacks
- Opportunity to shape portfolio-wide operational standards
- Own and evolve hybrid infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem environments
- Manage VMware and Windows Server infrastructure including backups, DR readiness, and lifecycle management
- Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and standardized deployment practices
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and proactive log analysis
- Design and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
- Support ISO, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and customer security requirements
- Manage identity, MFA, access controls, credential rotation, and audit readiness
- Partner with Dura shared services on centralized tooling such as SIEM
- Create runbooks, document tribal knowledge, and cross-train team members
- 5+ years of DevOps or infrastructure experience
- Hands-on experience with at least two of AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience in hybrid and legacy environments
- Strong CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code background
- Windows Server and Linux administration experience
- Networking fundamentals including firewalls, DNS, and SSL/TLS
- Excellent documentation, communication, and teaching mindset
- Elimination of single points of failure
- Documented, reproducible infrastructure and deployment processes
- Multiple operators capable of supporting production systems
- Mature incident response, monitoring, and DR practices
