Job Description

🛰 Environmental Test Engineer – Vibration & TVAC | Space Systems

Are you passionate about building hardware that survives launch and thrives in orbit?

We’re supporting a space company that’s building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space, enabling standard mobile phones to connect directly to satellites- no ground infrastructure needed.

They’re hiring an Environmental Test Engineer to join their mission. You'll be hands-on with shakers, TVAC chambers, data systems, and high-stakes flight hardware, verifying spacecraft components through vibration and thermal vacuum testing. This role is perfect for someone who wants to work cross-functionally, build out cleanroom test setups, and ensure mission-critical systems survive launch and space.

You’ll be doing:

  • Writing and executing test plans for vibration (sine, random, shock) and TVAC testing
  • Setting up and calibrating shakers, vacuum chambers, thermal instrumentation, and DAQ systems
  • Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and systems engineering to define test requirements
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting test campaigns in real time
  • Leading root cause investigations when anomalies occur
  • Producing detailed test reports (including data, plots, and pass/fail assessments)
  • Driving continuous improvement across environmental test processes and infrastructure

You’ll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in space or defense environmental testing
  • Strong hands-on background with shakers, TVAC chambers, accelerometers, and thermal sensors
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1540, NASA GEVS, ECSS, or related standards
  • Solid understanding of test instrumentation, fixturing, and contamination control
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar)

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, or Python for automation and data analysis
  • Satellite or launch vehicle campaign experience
  • Cleanroom discipline and high-reliability mindset

📍 Location: Onsite role in Texas (relocation supported)

🛰 Sector: Satellite / Space Systems / Telecom

💼 Type: Permanent, full-time

💰 Compensation: Competitive base + bonus + equity/options

This is a chance to test spacecraft that will connect billions around the world. If you want a role where your work has real mission impact, let's talk.
