About Sorcerer

Sorcerer is deploying a global network of persistent airborne sensors to fuel weather forecasting. Our high-altitude balloons collect 1000x more data than existing systems and are already used daily by meteorologists to track extreme weather across the US and Central America.

We are a well-funded early-stage Y Combinator backed startup based in San Francisco, CA. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, where you have an outsized impact across the company every day.

About The Role

As an Integration & Test Technician at Sorcerer you’ll build and launch the flight vehicles needed to fuel our global network of airborne weather sensors. The ideal candidate for this role is a proficient electrical and mechanical technician capable of working autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test production flight hardware
  • Communicate with the engineering team to refine hardware for manufacturability
  • Develop assembly procedures and test plans

Required Skill & Experience

  • Highly proficient in soldering and assembly
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems using schematics and design documentation
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Open HFT, Pytest)

Ideal Candidates

  • Are able to support non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekends when required
  • Have experience working in startups and small independent teams
  • Succeed with a high level of autonomy

Location

  • This is an in-office role at our HQ in SoMa, San Francisco
