About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Python and AWS to join our dynamic Cloud Processing Team within the Mapping and Perception department. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our cloud-based processing platform that serves clients globally. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and testing cloud applications, as well as monitoring and debugging these systems on Amazon Web Services. You will play a key role in building scalable data pipelines, creating insightful dashboards, and setting up alerting systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our cloud services. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient deployment and operation of our software solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of reality capture technology, shaping the digital transformation of physical spaces into digital twins.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering and development across multi-language, multi-system environments.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and deploying cloud applications on AWS, with comprehensive knowledge of services such as Lambda, Batch, ECS, Step Functions, IAM, SQS, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development and scripting tasks.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar frameworks.
• Experience deploying and managing software at scale, with a solid grasp of debugging, monitoring tools, and profiling techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to project ownership and continuous learning.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of designing, implementing, and testing cloud applications within NavVis’s platform.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot cloud applications on AWS to ensure high availability and performance.
• Design and deploy efficient data extraction pipelines to support processing workflows.
• Create dashboards and visualization tools based on application monitoring data to facilitate insights and decision-making.
• Establish alerting mechanisms, define operational thresholds, and set service quality gateways to maintain system health.
• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for seamless software deployment.
• Collaborate effectively with operational teams and software engineers to enhance system robustness and scalability.
