About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join Cisco’s Web Engineering team. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the web infrastructure that supports our digital marketing initiatives and public-facing websites. As a DevOps champion, you will be responsible for maintaining the web stack across multiple environments, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring the seamless deployment and operation of web applications. Your expertise will be integral to implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, enhancing system reliability, and leveraging AI-augmented observability tools for proactive monitoring and performance optimization.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the United States. You will work closely with internal teams, including web engineering, IT, and Security Operations, to build scalable, secure, and high-performing web solutions. Your role will also involve developing AI literacy and prompt engineering skills to interact effectively with AI tools integrated into DevOps workflows, ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and WordPress.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and tools including EC2, ALB, NLB, VPC, EKS, ECS, Route53, S3, EBS, and EFS.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Strong knowledge of web servers like Apache and Nginx.
  • Familiarity with version control systems including GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or SVN.
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, and iptables within cloud and Linux environments.
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Selenium, Sonar, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) such as Akamai or Amazon CloudFront.
  • Security and compliance expertise, including IAM, cloud auditing, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with AI-powered observability platforms like Splunk Observability Cloud and ThousandEyes.
  • Basic understanding of AI, machine learning concepts, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, thorough documentation, and collaborative mindset.

  • Maintain and optimize the web infrastructure across all environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to manage and support production web applications.
  • Design, develop, and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and improve release cycles.
  • Monitor system performance using AI-augmented observability tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Build and sustain secure, scalable, and resilient web solutions leveraging cloud services and infrastructure automation.
  • Configure and manage web servers, load balancers, and networking components within cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system architecture, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, firewall rules, and compliance protocols.
  • Engage in prompt engineering and AI literacy development to enhance automation and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
