Medior Data Engineer – Python, AWS | Utrecht [75K] (MedTech)

Turn real-world device data into insights that shape patient care. My client is a fast-growing MedTech scale-up (~100 people, strong engineering focus) building a next-generation robotic medical device that combines hardware, software, and data at its core. With CE approval secured and funding through 2027, they are scaling from development into real-world deployment. You’ll join the Application Team, working closely with engineering and business to make data reliable, traceable, and actionable.

Responsibilities

You’ll help build and scale the data backbone behind a regulated, hardware-driven product. Working in a cloud-native setup, you’ll design and maintain production-grade ETL and ELT pipelines that support both operational insight and long-term product performance. Day to day, you’ll develop Python-based pipelines using modern libraries like Polars, run them in containerised environments, and integrate them with AWS orchestration services. You’ll collaborate closely with a Senior Data Engineer to improve performance and robustness, investigate data issues, extend automated quality checks, and translate requirements into clean datasets and clear dashboards.

Your profile

• 2+ Years of experience in data engineering
• Strong Python skills; familiar with modern data tooling such as Polars, Pandas, PyArrow, or PySpark.
• Experience with AWS, containers, or DataOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with ETL or ELT pipelines in data lake or lakehouse
• Communicative, structured, and comfortable working in a regulated environment.
