About the Role

We’re hiring a WordPress Designer & Developer who blends strong visual design with

technical execution and takes full ownership of their work.

This role is for someone who doesn’t just build websites—but delivers thoughtful,

high-quality work, communicates clearly, and solves problems independently.

WordPress is our primary platform, but we also support client sites on Shopify, Wix,

Squarespace, and Webflow.

Job Description

• Design (branding + identity) and develop custom WordPress websites with clean UI/UX and responsive layouts
• Build and maintain sites using Elementor, Gutenberg, ACF, and modern WordPress tools
• Develop and support WooCommerce and eCommerce sites
• Customize themes and plugins (HTML, CSS, JS, light PHP)
• Ensure SEO, performance, accessibility, and best practices are built into every site
• Optimize websites for speed, stability, and performance
• Evaluate, audit, and update sites on other CMS platforms as needed
• Collaborate closely with account managers and internal team members
• Communicate proactively, provide status updates, and flag risks early
• Perform QA testing and troubleshoot cross-browser and device issues
• Configure hosting, backups, security, and ongoing maintenance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional WordPress design & development experience
• Branding or identity design experience (must provide portfolio)
• Strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, plugins, hooks, and template structure
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive, mobile-first design
• Experience building sites using Elementor, Gutenberg, and ACF
• Ability to customize themes and plugins (light PHP) without breaking updates
• Experience developing and supporting WooCommerce sites
• Strong eye for clean, modern UI/UX and attention to detail
• Understanding of SEO, performance, and accessibility best practices
• Experience translating designs from Figma or Adobe into high-quality builds
• Ability to QA, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable, production-ready websites
• Clear communicator with strong ownership, organization, and follow-through
• Experience with hosting, migrations, staging environments, or DNS

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Intermediate PHP or advanced JavaScript experience
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and performance optimization
• Agency experience or comfort managing multiple projects at once
• Experience with Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and structured workflows
