Our client, a leader in the fuels service industry, is looking to hire a Software Engineer for a 3 to 6 month contract – this is a 100% remote role. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours
The Digital Service Tools group is responsible for several business-critical applications - Quick Serve Online (Provides parts, service and Warranty information to all of our client’s Customers), Integrated Aftermarket Catalog (Provides parts information for all Client’s Engines), WWSPS (Dealer Certification System), Clients Service Training (CST) and several other applications/integrations to support the Business and Customers. The user base for our applications spans from Client’s channel users, Fleet, SIR, CIHR, to end Customers. These applications require ongoing support and new feature development. Additional resources are required to ensure timely delivery of the new features, technical support and enhancements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Due to the limited amount of time available for coming up to speed for this work, we are seeking a resource who has experience in full-stack software development, cloud-based systems, document databases
Stay abreast of web development and underlying technological trends to maintain a competitive edge and assist in developing technology upgrade plans, for example:
• Upgrade plans for PCI Compliance for the existing applications.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technology and software trends as well as infrastructure tool sets of at least one technology or functional domain. Assists in performing evaluation and developing recommendations for new selection and purchase decisions.
• Develop applications interacting with other systems like Warranty, C360, Dealer Onboarding, IAM etc.
Perform functional, performance testing and troubleshooting of web applications performing the following tasks:
• Responsible for documenting system requirements and defining the proposed system solution using technical components at a developing level.
• Apply abstract knowledge along with proven methods to a set of technologies with the goal of creating an extensible, maintainable, and practical solution to meet business needs.
• Developing a Design, Assists in setting designs and the direction of the technical platform.
• Lead activities related to research, requirements gathering, modeling, visualization and communication of IT solution for a specific project or technology space. Completes phases of current and long-term strategic goal assessment to help develop operational system requirements. Models existing-state and desired-state system functionality.
• Document technical system solution required to implement the proposed design. Develop standards for the specific function or technology domain and create design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions. Provide subject matter expertise for a specific technology/function domain to assist in system integration efforts, troubleshoot implementation issues, and develop/maintain technology strategy and roadmap direction.
• Participate as a change agent to implement new strategic directions and technology decisions. Analyzes data on existing processes to identify system conflicts, roadblocks, and bottlenecks. Aids in application, technology, and network integration. Make process improvement recommendations to developers and managers as required.
• Provide recommendations to senior architects and managers to identify improvement opportunities and upcoming challenges. Develops positive relationships with other functions and between IT disciplines to effectively guide the development of cutting-edge IT architecture.
• Release the functionalities to users.
• Application Support including specific support required for CVCOL Online course management and Data Groomer Project
High level of collaboration with members of the solution team, actively engaging in:
• Knowledge gathering about existing applications from team members.
• Research latest technologies pertaining to end-to-end infrastructure related to the application building.
Required Skills & Experience
At least 6-8 years of experience with a Bachelors degree preferably.
Design and develop new web-based applications / support existing applications for Service Tools Suite of Applications primarily WWSPS, CST using the following technologies:
• VB.NET
• ASP.NET
• SCORM
• PHP
• MYSQL/ORACLE/MongoDB
• PL/SQL
• JavaScript, JQUERY,HTML5,CSS,AJAX
• JAVA 8
• Angular Framework
• Spring Boot Framework
• Cloud Platform (MS Azure)
Application Support including specific Support required for CVCOL Online course management and Data Groomr project.
• Responsible for customer support for course management
• Upload and management of New Courses
• Responsible for escalated Trouble Shooting and Ticket processing/ closing tickets per agreed SLA
• Help address bulk Training ID Merges relating to Data Groomr
• Responsible for creating admin screens (or like) to help scale the support delivery process
