Position Summary: The Human Resources Business Partners is responsible for leading and overseeing various human resource projects, providing valuable advice on human capital management to HR Services clients. This person will provide support to multiple clients at a time by helping to optimize day-to-day HR processes and implementing strategic HR plans, internal processes, and technology solutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Tasks:
Consulting
- Consult with clients regarding salary and compensation
- Strategic HR discussions with Executive Team
- Pro-active consulting on compliance, efficiency, and performance
- Develop and coordinate Performance Review Process, coordinate performance review/schedule with managers
- Provide Management training on anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, interviewing, performance management, wage and hour compliance, and more (additional fee for more than two per year)
- Review current job descriptions and make changes as necessary; create new job descriptions as needed
- Lead a regularly scheduled call with each client to maintain open lines of communications and to discuss open projects or employee relations.
- Manage Leave of Absence Compliance: FMLA, Workers Compensation, Military, PTO, State Required PTO/Leave laws
- Annual review of employee handbook based on federal/state laws
- Advise and assist with discipline, corrective actions, performance improvement plans and terminations
- On-going coaching with managers on employee relations issues
- Support and assist client response to employment claims, workers compensation claims
- HR Business Partner has access to dedicated Employment/Labor attorney for legal research, document reviews and recommendations
- Conduct Exit Interviews (if necessary)

- File EEO1 report annually (100+ employees), including California if appropriate
- Create templates, documents, forms and workflows as needed
- Main point of contact for client, acting as leader for Client Service Team (Care, Payroll and/or Benefits) if these HR Services are elected by the client; Coordinate with Producer/Account Manager as needed
- Lead a regularly scheduled call with each internal client service team to maintain open lines of communications and to discuss open projects or employee relations.

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience required
- Experience using HRIS systems
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, or related field preferred
