Job Description

Classification: This position is classified as exempt, full-time, and is at-will employment.

As a Social Media Manager at Well Connected Brands, you will lead strategy and also execute the day-to-day work. This role is ideal for someone who wants flexibility, a work from home schedule, and the opportunity to own social media marketing from concept to completion. You will capture content, write copy, manage client accounts, and bring ideas to life across platforms. You will collaborate with clients and internal team members to bring brand stories to life while staying grounded in strategy and measurable results.

Although this role offers flexibility, you must be available during standard business hours to communicate with clients, participate in internal meetings, and support real-time needs. Most work happens in the general 8 to 5 range Monday-Friday, with room to manage your schedule as long as responsibilities are met.

This is a fully remote position within the State of California. Employees must have reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace. Travel is required for content capture at client site visits. Most visits are in Orange County, with occasional regional trips and very limited nationwide travel, usually one to two times each year. There are occasional site visits that may occur during evenings or weekends, but this is the exception rather than the rule. We also host quarterly in-person team meetings in Orange County or Los Angeles.

Experience required to start: 5+ years of professional social media or marketing experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership and Account Management

  • Serve as the day-to-day lead for assigned client accounts and social media strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all social media needs, building strong and positive client relationships.
  • Join client and vendor meetings on Zoom and Google Meet with a professional, presentable on-screen presence.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently during virtual calls.
  • Understand each client’s brand voice, audience, strategy, and business goals.
  • Maintain accurate status updates, project details, calendars, and content plans.

Content Creation and Execution

  • Capture photo and video content during site visits using basic equipment such as smartphones, stabilizers, microphones, and tripods (supplied by the company).
  • Write platform-appropriate captions and social copy that align with brand tone and campaign goals.
  • Manage posting schedules, community management, and engagement across platforms.
  • Execute paid and organic posting needs with accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure cohesive and branded feed aesthetics and messaging.

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop social media strategies, content pillars, and campaign recommendations that support broader marketing objectives.
  • Connect social media recommendations to brand KPIs and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual strategy planning for assigned clients.
  • Stay current on platform updates, best practices, and trends to provide proactive recommendations.

Performance, Reporting, and Insights

  • Set KPIs for client accounts and individual campaigns.
  • Track performance and deliver meaningful monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Present results and insights clearly, sharing new ideas and recommendations that keep clients engaged and confident in their social direction.
  • Provide competitive analysis and platform trends that evolve content direction.

Project and Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with creative and production teams to ensure social deliverables are on time, on brand, and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Communicate needs and feedback clearly to internal teams.
  • Support team growth and share best practices when supervising junior team members or freelancers.

Business Growth Support

  • Participate in consultative upselling and cross-service recommendations that support client success and agency growth.
  • Identify opportunities for improved workflow, efficiency, and results.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional marketing experience with direct social media ownership preferred.
  • Proven ability to run social channels from strategy to output.
  • Experience in content capture, editing, and organic and paid management for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for ideation, research, and efficiency.
  • Tech-forward mindset with willingness to adopt new tools quickly.
  • Proficient with modern content creation and editing platforms including Canva, CapCut, and social scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency in professional editing tools like Premiere Pro and Descript are a plus.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable being on camera for client meetings and vendor calls via Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Presentable and professional appearance for video meetings.
  • Comfortable presenting to clients, analyzing data, and turning insights into action.
  • Highly organized with strong project management abilities.
  • Ability to work at a computer for up to 8 hours daily, and manage multiple digital platforms simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel in Orange County/Los Angeles, with occasional regional and rare nationwide trips.

Compensation

  • Starting salary range: $65,000- $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance available
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with California law
  • This role is full time and includes standard national holidays
