Take ownership of keyword research, metadata optimisation, content planning, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
Utilise SEO tools to produce performance reports and support data-driven decisions.
Assist in the implementation of tracking and reporting using tools such as Google Tag Manager and Data Studio.

Job Description:

Our client, a fast-growing digital marketing agency, is seeking an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to lead SEO strategy and execution across a varied client portfolio. This is an exciting permanent opportunity based in Newcastle with flexible working options.


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies covering on-page and off-page optimisation for a broad range of clients.
  • Conduct regular SEO audits, track performance against KPIs, and deliver clear monthly insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide SEO-focused audits and strategy proposals to support business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, to ensure technical implementation of SEO recommendations.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and support SEO best practices across the agency.
  • Mentor junior team members and offer strategic input to support the wider digital team.
  • Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm changes, and the evolving role of AI in search marketing.
  • Take ownership of keyword research, metadata optimisation, content planning, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
  • Utilise SEO tools to produce performance reports and support data-driven decisions.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing and executing SEO campaigns across diverse industries.
  • Proven track record in technical SEO, including structured data, crawl management, and optimisation techniques.
  • Experience in both local SEO and broader national/international SEO strategies.
  • High level of proficiency in industry-standard tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.


Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of AI tools and how they enhance SEO strategy and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities using Excel and Google Data Studio.
  • Experience in paid search (PPC) is a plus.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field.
