Collaborate with managers in appropriate processes and resolutions of employee relations issues
POC for NASA badging and training
Supports program management as needed with reports and special projects

HX5 is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Brook Park, OH in support the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer-focused service to employees, managers and leadership.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, escalating as appropriate.
  • Conducts recruitment efforts for all contract positions.
  • Prepares offer material in accordance with procedures and contract requirements.
  • Processes, tracks and reviews background screens, drug screens and contract required medical screens.
  • Responsible for employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, status changes, and offboarding.
  • Completes E-Verify filings and I-9 documentation.
  • Prepares and files reports of accidents and injuries at establishments.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA degree and 10 years of experience is preferred; BA degree and High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience is required.
  • Five years government contracting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality is a must.
  • Ability to maintain high level of attention to detail required.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point; Human Resource information systems; payroll software; and applicant tracking software. Experience with Taleo and Deltek products helpful.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours Worked:

This is a full-time on-site position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
