HX5 is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Brook Park, OH in support the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides customer-focused service to employees, managers and leadership.
- Serves as a first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, escalating as appropriate.
- Conducts recruitment efforts for all contract positions.
- Prepares offer material in accordance with procedures and contract requirements.
- Processes, tracks and reviews background screens, drug screens and contract required medical screens.
- Responsible for employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, status changes, and offboarding.
- Completes E-Verify filings and I-9 documentation.
- Prepares and files reports of accidents and injuries at establishments.
- Processes FMLA and disability claims.
- Collaborate with managers in appropriate processes and resolutions of employee relations issues.
- POC for NASA badging and training.
- Supports program management as needed with reports and special projects.

Education and/or Experience:
- BA degree and 10 years of experience is preferred; BA degree and High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience is required.
- Five years government contracting experience is preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality is a must.
- Ability to maintain high level of attention to detail required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point; Human Resource information systems; payroll software; and applicant tracking software. Experience with Taleo and Deltek products helpful.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
