HR Business Partner

What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with our longtime client, a family-owned sustainably focused wood product manufacturing company with forest land in Oregon, California and Pennsylvania to identify an HR Business Partner for their site in Lakeview, OR. Since the mid 1800’s they have been deeply committed to land and resource stewardship. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources and working alongside onsite Managers you will serve as the HR site partner supporting a cohesive and safe work environment. This is a great opportunity for an emerging HR professional eager to gain more experience under the guidance of a dedicated HR leader and mentor.
A day in the life as:
- Maintain a high level of leadership and guidance to the facility by providing consultation to supervisors and the Operations Manager on employee issues.
- Responsible for safety orientation, onboarding, benefits enrollment and offboarding for new hires and exiting employees.
- Conduct incident/accident investigations.
- Responsible for full cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions for the location.
- Responsible for ensuring hourly payroll records are input and processed accurately in coordination with the payroll specialist.
- Responsible for all affirmative action tracking and reporting for the location.
- Coordinate with the leave carrier to assist employees with filing for state and federal protective leave laws.
- Partner with the HR and Safety team on local initiatives.
- Responsible for compliance of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with the business unit’s safety program to include workers’ compensation claims, safety committee, training, safety audits, and other as needed.

You have the following knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, safety, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience accepted.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including recruitment, diversity outreach, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
- Minimum two years' prior experience in Human Resources or payroll.
- Previous safety experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 preferred or required within the first six months.
- Skilled in conflict management, problem solving, and analytical reasoning.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and ethical standards
