We are looking for a senior Java Developer to join our team.
Please note: This position requires full-time presence in AU time 9:00am – 5:00 pm AEST (5 days per week) fully remote
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications, services, and workflows
- Develop secure RESTful APIs following ISO27001 and OWASP standards
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; support release management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and mentor junior developers
- Optimise database performance (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Work with IT Operations and department heads to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Establish best practices and contribute to team code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks; adopt test-driven development
- Ensure accurate test data and environment management
- Mentor junior developers and support their skill development

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Java development (Java 22+)
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA, and RESTful API development
- Proficiency in SQL with PostgreSQL or MySQL experience
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Skilled in front-end development (JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and RESTful API design
- Proficient in GitHub and CI/CD pipeline development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team working and problem solving skills
