Our client, a fast-growing digital marketing agency, is seeking an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to lead SEO strategy and execution across a varied client portfolio. This is an exciting permanent opportunity based in Newcastle with flexible working options.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies covering on-page and off-page optimisation for a broad range of clients.
- Conduct regular SEO audits, track performance against KPIs, and deliver clear monthly insights to internal stakeholders.
- Provide SEO-focused audits and strategy proposals to support business development efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, to ensure technical implementation of SEO recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and support SEO best practices across the agency.
- Mentor junior team members and offer strategic input to support the wider digital team.
- Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm changes, and the evolving role of AI in search marketing.
- Take ownership of keyword research, metadata optimisation, content planning, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
- Utilise SEO tools to produce performance reports and support data-driven decisions.
- Assist in the implementation of tracking and reporting using tools such as Google Tag Manager and Data Studio.

Experience Required
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing and executing SEO campaigns across diverse industries.
- Proven track record in technical SEO, including structured data, crawl management, and optimisation techniques.
- Experience in both local SEO and broader national/international SEO strategies.
- High level of proficiency in industry-standard tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of AI tools and how they enhance SEO strategy and analysis.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities using Excel and Google Data Studio.
- Experience in paid search (PPC) is a plus.
- Background in content creation or direction is advantageous.
- Familiarity with DevOps collaboration for implementing SEO strategies.
