POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO/President provides strategic and operational leadership for CAPAW. This role CEO/President is accountable for organizational sustainability and mission impact, with a primary focus on fundraising and resource development. As CAPAW’s chief ambassador, the CEO/President elevates organizations visibility, builds strategic partnerships, and represents CAPAW within key coalitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Fundraising, Development & Revenue Growth (Primary Focus)
·     Lead and execute CAPAW’s development and revenue strategy; including individual giving, grants, sponsorships, and events.

·     Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors; manage a strong fundraising pipeline. .
·     Identify, and oversee foundation and government grant opportunities
·     Oversee fundraising events in collaboration with staff, volunteers, and the Board.
·     Report development progress and updates to the Board.
2) Community Visibility & External Relations
·     Serve as CAPAW’s primary spokesperson and relationship building; Strengthen CAPAW’s profile across community, partners, and stakeholder networks.
·     Support strategic communications and public relationship efforts
·     Social media presence and track record on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok.
3) Coalition & Advocacy Leadership
·     Represent CAPAW within key leadership coalitions and relevant coalition initiatives.
·     Coordinate CAPAW participation in advocacy and working groups.
·     Leverage coalition relationships to support partnerships and funding opportunities.
·     Communicate coalition priorities and opportunities to the Board, staff, and stakeholders
4) Program Leadership & Organizational Impact
·     Provide strategic oversight of CAPAW programs to ensure quality/mission alignment.
·     Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
5) Operations, Staff, Volunteers & Contractor Oversight
·     Hire and supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers.
·     Foster accountability, role clarity, and professional growth.
·     Maintain organizational policies and procedures.
6) Financial Management & Administration
·     Partner with the Board on budgeting and fiscal oversight.
·     Monitor financial performance, compliance, and reporting.
·     Oversee operational infrastructure and vendor relationships.

7) IT, Systems and Data Management
·     Oversee CRM systems for donor tracking, stewardships, and reporting.  (i.e. Salesforce, QuickBooks, PayPal, Whova etc)
·     Ensure data accuracy to support fundraising and Board reporting.
·     Collaborate with staff and contractors on system optimization.
·     Ability to evaluate CAPAW’s overall technology stack for efficiency and optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS
·     2+ years of nonprofit leadership experience, including fundraising and external engagement is preferred.
·     Demonstrated fundraising success (individual giving, grants, sponsorships, and/or events.
·     Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
·     Experience supervising staff, volunteers, and/or contractors.
·     familiar with CRM and fundraising management systems.
·     Flexibility to attend evening/weekend events and travel as needed.
BONUS
·     Graduate of APAWLI or sHERO leadership program.
·     Experience with leadership development programs and/or mentorship programs.
·     AI curiosity, literacy and adaptability. Must demonstrate the potential to grow with emerging technologies to support building ethical awareness and long-term organizational resilience.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience will be considered.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fully remote position with travel required for organizational priorities, coalition participation, and key events. Occasional evening and weekend availability is expected.
