Job Description

The Principal Solution Product Owner is responsible for delivering complex solution products that drive value for our customers. This role is part of a product development team and partners with engineering teams to work with customers to understand business problems, refine and prioritize the product backlog containing user stories, elicit and document software Product Discovery/Definition, and develop and validate solutions for development team members on a day-to-day basis. The Principal Solution Product Owner possesses knowledge of product and product delivery and acts as the primary interface with the Scrum Teams - leading best practices and innovation across all Product Owners.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the product managers and operations teams to manage and align product vision through discovery/definition and convert to actionable items on the backlog; accountable for prioritizing and sequencing the product backlog through feature mapping, user story creation, definition of acceptance criteria and loading into the feature/requirement tracking tool
  • Transform the product vision from product management and operations teams into actionable product roadmap and releases; manage the product backlog, coordinating with stakeholders to align on expectations and visualize what items deliver the most value to the customer through the sequencing of the product backlog and release plans; accountable for the planning event as the main point of contact for questions and clarification of user stories
  • Participate in: sprint planning to help shape the team's specific objectives for the upcoming sprint; daily stand ups to provide real time clarifications necessary to assist the team; the sprint review to show the working solutions completed; and the retrospective to contribute to improve how the team collaborates and works together
  • Participate in program implementation planning to define and drive business value, objectives and outcome for the program increment
  • Manage ongoing performance and usage of features and acts as point of contact for questions, concerns and suggestions; provide input on test strategy and test cases, being an advocate of quality solutions that meet or exceed defined customer expectations; perform reviews with key internal teams and commercial customers throughout the product lifecycle to ensure alignment on solution needs and product discovery/definition; ensure full-stack product ownership, upkeep, maintenance and sustainability for the product
  • Accountable for the product team delivering in alignment with business objectives, driving strong relationships with all development, internal groups, and customers in order to ensure timely and effective delivery of software features and defect resolution
  • Engage with other product owners to develop and promote best practices and standards
  • Accountable for identifying and prioritizing key product documentation as needed by aligning with other team members
  • Facilitate long-term working relationships with product management, technology teams, functional counterparts, third parties, customer service, go to market, and commercial customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Healthcare Administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School diploma or GED is required
  • 7 years of work experience leading business processes, system changes and/or similar relevant business experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

  • Skilled at change management and leading change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience with commercial software design concepts, practices, and procedures
  • 8 or more years of work experience writing Product Discovery/Definition for software in a Product Owner role
  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM) Certification
  • Experience with minimum viable product, Scrum, and/or Lean startup
  • Experience developing Product Discovery/Definition for commercial software products
  • User Experience (UX) Design experience
  • Experience delivering on premise and cloud/mobility products
  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or related industry
  • Strong technical background and experience with any of the following technologies and architectures: service- oriented architecture, web services, databases, modeling and/or distributed computing

Potential pay for this position ranges from $108,000.00 - $184,000.00 based on experience and skills.
