DevSecOps / Python Engineer

This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled DevSecOps / Python Engineer to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative cybersecurity team supporting critical infrastructure projects. You will work remotely with a focus on automating security processes, developing Python-based tools, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments. The position offers significant responsibility, including designing, implementing, and scaling security solutions, collaborating across teams, and supporting advanced government-level IT security initiatives. Ideal candidates thrive in dynamic environments, possess strong coding expertise, and are committed to improving the security posture of complex systems. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technologies while influencing infrastructure and security practices. U.S. citizenship is required to meet security clearance requirements.

Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate security processes, tool integration, and server configuration.
• Enhance and automate CI/CD pipelines and environments, including Jenkins and AWS integrations.
• Implement security controls and automation within cloud environments, including AWS APIs.
• Build and manage auto-provisioning and auto-scaling of security infrastructure.
• Integrate and maintain Elastic Stack/ELK clusters, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Collaborate with teams to develop security enhancements, monitor system hardening, and implement blue team defenses.
• Provide technical guidance and support to improve the overall cybersecurity posture of the organization.
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 6 years of Python development on Linux/UNIX platforms.
• 4+ years of AWS experience with automation and API integration.
• 2+ years of Jenkins (or similar CI/CD) experience and solid understanding of CI/CD processes.
• Strong knowledge of security engineering, including SIEM integration, firewall rules, and IPS policies.
• Experience with systems administration on Windows and Linux/UNIX, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing protocols), and source code management tools such as Git/GitHub.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and Ruby scripting is preferred.
• Experience managing Elastic Stack deployments and clusters.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience (8+ years IT experience without degree).
