Job Description:

Senior DevSecOps Engineer/ISSM (Azure Government IL5)

Position Overview:

Mundo Systems is seeking a full-time Senior DevSecOps Engineer who will also serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSM) for our Azure Government IL5 production environment. This role replaces two previously part-time positions and provides single-threaded ownership across DevSecOps execution and RMF security operations during an active ATO and penetration testing effort.

The position is hands-on and senior-level, focused on secure platform operations, RMF execution, and ongoing enhancement of our IL5 landing zone, Kubernetes platform, and security posture.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the designated ISSM for an Azure Government IL5 production environment

• Execute RMF activities in support of ATO, penetration testing, and continuous monitoring

• Maintain security artifacts in eMASS (SSP, SAP, SAR, POA&M, ConMon)

• Coordinate with penetration testers, cloud engineers, and government stakeholders

• Implement and maintain STIGs, vulnerability management, and compliance controls

• Operate and secure AKS clusters using Platform One Big Bang (Istio, Keycloak, GitLab, etc.)

• Support secure CI/CD pipelines and container security controls

• Participate in deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and future product enhancements

• Provide risk assessments and security recommendations to leadership

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or security engineering

• Demonstrated experience supporting ATOs in IL5 or IL6 environments

• Hands-on experience with Azure Government (IL5 preferred)

• Experience with Platform One Big Bang components (Istio, Keycloak, GitLab)

• Strong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity policy

• Experience supporting penetration tests and remediation

• Ability to perform ISSM responsibilities under DoD 8140 guidance

• Active DoD Secret clearance (TS preferred/eligible)

• US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior dual-hatted DevSecOps / ISSM experience

• Experience with Kubernetes security and service meshes

• Familiarity with Azure Landing Zones (ILZ)

• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, Packer)

• Experience working in government contracting environments

Certifications (Required):

• CISSP, CISM, CASP+, GSLC, or equivalent (one of these is required)

Certifications (Preferred):

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS)

• Azure or other cloud security certifications

Work Environment:

• Azure Government IL5 / ILZ production environment

• Kubernetes-based platform utilizing Platform One Big Bang
