Job Title: Penetration Test Manager (Remote – UK)

Salary: £55,000–£60,000 DOE

Location: Remote (UK-based)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK-based cyber consultancy for a Penetration Test Manager to lead a small team of penetration testers. This is a managerial role, focused on oversight, strategy, and delivery of penetration testing services — hands-on testing is not required.

You will ensure that the team operates efficiently, follows best practice methodologies, and delivers high-quality, actionable findings to clients across diverse industries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a small team of penetration testers, providing guidance, career development, and workload management.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of client penetration testing engagements.
  • Ensure penetration testing methodologies, reporting, and deliverables meet consultancy standards and client expectations.
  • Review and approve findings and reports, translating technical results into clear recommendations for clients.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to inform team priorities and methodology updates.
  • Support business development activities by advising on scope, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery and client satisfaction.


Requirements

  • Proven experience managing penetration testing or red-team teams (2–5 testers).
  • Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in a consultancy or client-facing environment preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.
