RedSwitches is looking for a proactive and technically skilled L1/L2 Linux System Administrator with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in managing Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting production servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems within a 24/7 hosting environment.
This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of Linux systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced data center and cloud infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for Linux servers in production environments
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, etc.)
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource utilization
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, network, and application-level issues
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control
- Perform routine system updates, patch management, and security hardening
- Support web hosting stacks (Apache, Nginx, MySQL, PHP)
- Handle server provisioning, migrations, and deployments
- Work with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, etc.)
- Monitor alerts and respond to incidents within defined SLAs
- Document incidents, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate with senior engineers (L3) for complex escalations

About You
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator
- Strong command of Linux CLI and shell environments
- Experience with web hosting environments and control panels (cPanel/WHM, Plesk is a plus)
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, Routing concepts)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems
- Understanding of server security best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and meet SLAs
- Good communication skills and a customer-centric approach
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts (if required)
