Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Search Ads (PPC) Specialist to take full ownership of paid search performance across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring deep experience in troubleshooting, optimisation, client communication, and performance problem-solving.
This is a fully remote, full-time position, working Monday to Friday during New Zealand business hours. The role requires a reliable laptop, stable high-speed internet, and a professional, distraction-free work environment.
You will be expected to think beyond execution — diagnosing issues, making judgment calls, clearly explaining decisions, and being accountable for results.
This is not a junior role.
If you’ve never fixed a declining PPC account, handled difficult performance conversations, or challenged bad ideas with data — this role is not for you.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end Google Ads & Microsoft Ads campaigns
- Diagnose and fix performance issues:
- Declining ROAS
- Rising CPA / CPC
- Poor lead quality
- Structural or bidding problems
- Use SEMrush for keyword research, competitor analysis, and gap analysis
- Use Optmyzr for audits, prioritisation, budget pacing, and automation — with judgment
- Decide when to use AI & automation (and when to turn it off)
- Analyse performance using search terms, Quality Score, auction insights, and GA4
- Communicate results, risks, and strategy clearly to clients/stakeholders
- Deliver clear weekly/monthly reports focused on outcomes, not vanity metrics

What we’re looking for (non-negotiable)
- 5+ years of hands-on Search Ads experience
- Proven ability to fix or scale underperforming PPC accounts
- Strong experience with SEMrush
- Hands-on experience with Optmyzr or similar optimisation platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator who can explain why results changed
- Able to work Monday–Friday in New Zealand business hours
