Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Horizon Networks in searching for its Asset and Delivery Manager, reporting to the General Manager Network.
The Opportunity
Joining a network with mature asset management frameworks while continuing to innovate, this is an excellent opportunity if you’re striving to operate at the industry forefront. Managing an established team, you will lead the continued development of asset strategy, lifecycle and maintenance, engineering standards, and works management for this stable and ambitious network.
Innovative and process driven, you will maintain Horizon Network’s ISO certifications (including ISO 55001) leading internal audits and coordinating with other managers. You will be responsible for overseeing key projects such as:
- Maximising advanced monitoring data and associated tools
- Enhancing substation security
- Developing flood mitigation strategy and standards
- Completing a full overhead conductor aerial survey
- Enhancing network resilience through harnessing AI

The Role
With four direct reports, and three indirect reports you will support your team in developing and informing the asset investment programme through:
- The ongoing optimisation of asset fleet strategies across all asset classes, ensuring alignment with risk, performance, and investment objectives
- Advancing innovative data collection methods and asset risk models, ensuring insights directly inform asset investment and maintenance decisions
- Ensuring asset failures and faults are investigated, with learnings embedded into asset strategies and standards
- Setting and maintaining high-quality engineering standards and procedures that underpin safe, reliable, and consistent network performance
- Ensuring timely and high-quality handover of OPEX and CAPEX work packs, enabling efficient delivery

A crucial liaison internally and externally, you will develop relationships and collaborate with a range of stakeholders including the Future Networks Manager, Operations Manager, Asset Intelligence Manager, Horizon Energy Contracting, and both contractors and consultants.
Additionally, you will provide subject matter expertise to your team and broader business, including the Board and Executive.
About You
Analytical, with the ability to see the bigger picture you will be able to navigate your team through the industry’s evolution and associated ambiguity, supporting them in prioritising while contributing to hands on asset investment and engineering decisions.
Experienced in distribution or transmission, you’ll be well versed in strategic planning, asset management, and ideally contract management. This will likely see you coming from an asset management or project engineering background while holding a relevant tertiary qualification.
This is a great opportunity if you are wanting to turn your leadership experience into a management role. Equally, you may be an experienced manager wanting to be more hands on to utilise your technical prowess.
